Which versions of macOS does Heelen support?

macOS 15.6 Sequoia or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Which apps can I protect?

Any app installed on your Mac. Messages, Notes, Mail, Photos, your banking app, your work tools. If it opens on your Mac, you can put a lock in front of it. You choose the apps from a list and can change that list whenever you like.

Does Heelen send anything off my Mac?

No. Your password, your settings, and your list of protected apps stay on the device. There is no server involved in locking or unlocking, and nothing about what you lock is collected.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email address, and nothing to log in to. Download Heelen, choose your apps, set your lock.

What if I forget my password?

Heelen uses your Mac user account password. It doesn’t store or create a separate password.

Does Heelen work without an internet connection?

Yes. Heelen runs entirely offline. Protection never depends on a server being reachable, so it keeps working on a plane, on hotel Wi-Fi, or with the network off.

How much does Heelen cost?

Heelen is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase.
